For children aged 8–12, starting in September 2026.
We'll explore all kinds of fabric and yarn-based creative projects such as weaving, embroidery, quilting, tufting, felting, braiding and fabric printing.
Based in a peaceful self-contained studio on the top floor of a domestic house, all abilities are welcome in a friendly, low-pressure, neuro-inclusive space. Max 8 per session.

While each session will be based around a particular technique, children will be encouraged to take it in their own direction.
In the last weeks of each half term, each child will work towards a larger piece of textile wall art using some of the skills and ideas they have developed over the previous weeks. Suggestions and requests are welcome!
All materials will be provided, but children can feel free to bring in their own as well.

Hello, I'm Laura, founder of Fibrefolk. I'm a lover of all things textile-based and enjoy making fibre art, especially weaving and embroidery (check out some of my work below).
I'm passionate about the benefits of open-ended creativity for children, and aim to create a supportive space in which children can express themselves and work at their own pace.
I am fully insured and DBS checked.
Please note that the studio in Sydenham is on the top floor of my house, up two flights of stairs. The studio is self-contained and children will remain there for the duration of the session. The house is also home to my partner, two young children, two cats and two guinea pigs.
Sessions begin in September 2026 and will run from 3.30pm to 5.00pm (days to be confirmed) in SE26.
School pickup is available from Alexandra Junior School.
